A cool sippy cup for your cool kid! The Foogo is the sippy cup, reinvented.
Just recently the FDA recognized that plastics can leech into foods stored inside and some of these plastics contain chemicals that can be harmful for human consumption. The chemical that is getting the most press is Bisphenol A , or BPA. BPA is found in many plastics, including those marked with a recycling number 7, or those made with polycarbonate (sometimes identified on containers with the letters "PC").
Plastics can react with foods or drink placed inside them, especially hot or acidic foods, and deposit chemicals into the contents. These chemicals then enter you or your child's body. Children are most at risk for consuming BPA, due to the large amount of plastics used for their food and drinks.
All plastics marked with numbers 3 and 6 should also not be used for food or drink. The longer food or liquid sits in a container, the more likely it is to absorb chemicals from the plastics.
Enter the Foogo sippy cup. The interior and exterior of the cup is food grade stainless steel. Between the layers of stainless steal is a vacuum-sealed chamber which also helps to keep drinks cold. Keeping liquids, such as milk, colder longer reduces the likelihood of food borne illness. The Foogo can keep liquids cold for up to 6 hours!
The Foogo sippy spout makes it easy for young children to use the cup. All plastics in the sippy and top are BPA free. The soft drinking spout is made from “food contact safe” Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). The valve plate and lid are made from polypropylene (PP#5).
Foogo comes in two colors, blue and pink, and also two styles, with and without handles. The cups are the same size, but the handled version is recommended for younger children (age range 6 months +) and the cup without handles is good for older children (9 months and up).
