HolidayVille is Saturday, December 3 and we’re brining back Candy Cane Deals!

On December 10th, join us from 2-4pm for our annual Holiday Party. We’ll have snacks and hot beverages, singing by Joanie Calem and our favorite make and take crafts, where kids can come in and make a few handmade gifts for their favorite adults.

Make and Take craft tickets are $2 each or get six for $10. This year we will have three crafts to choose from. Kids are welcome to do more than one of each if they like, each craft they do costs one ticket.

Choose from these crafts, all of which have been favorites in past years:

• Brownie Mix (Kids measure dry ingredients into a Ball jar, an attached recipe card tells the recipient how to turn it into fresh brownies!)
• Bath Salts (More measuring fun! Soothing bath salts in kids’ choice of scents and colors)
• Ornaments (Glass ball ornaments that kids will decorate themselves)

Green Toys Sandwich Shop

It’s lunchtime at your favorite eating spot! With the Green Toys Sandwich Shop, young chefs can open their own imaginary deli, take orders, create sandwiches and serve guests.

This set comes with 15 pieces and all the fixings you need to create two complete sandwiches. Made from recycled milk jugs. No BPA, PVC, phthalates or external coatings. Meets FDA food contact standards.

To kick off this exciting event, Sprout Soup will open an hour early at 9am on Saturday. EVERYONE is welcome to come and shop during the swap days. You don’t need to register to shop and you don’t need to bring anything! Just come on in and pick up some great deals.

The August dates are our shopping-only days. Registration and drop off for items to be sold in the Swap happens the month before our Swap and ended on July 30th. If you’d like to be involved in the February 2012 Swap, make sure to check in with us in January.

Our Swap shopping days are usually a little bit crazy, but we guarantee you will find a deal and have some fun! We do expect to have a line waiting outside our door on Saturday morning, so get here early for best selection!

On Sunday, August 14 everything still left in the Swap is discounted. So if you can’t make it in on Saturday, rest assured there will be bigger and better deals! Please note that all items are out for sale on Saturday, we don’t “hold back” any inventory for Sunday.

Swap Opening Early for Baby Carriers!
This, our 6th Sprout Swap, has the largest number of good-quality baby slings and carriers of any Swap we have held to date.

Due to the nature of baby carriers, we realize that it’s often not something you can decide on in a weekend, so we are bringing out the carriers on Tuesday, August 9 so you will have a few days to look them over, try them out and decide if there is one you would like to purchase.

All other Swap items will be available August 13 at 9am as previously planned.

Baby Carrier Rental Program

Baby carriers are an indispensable part of every family’s parenting toolbox, but it can be overwhelming and difficult to figure out which carrier is best for your family. There are many options with many price points and sometimes just trying them on in the store isn’t enough to make a decision. This is where our Rental Program comes in! Simply call Sprout Soup and set up an appointment. Once you have narrowed down your options we will set you up with a two week trial of two to four different carriers. The cost of this service is only $5, plus a $10 per carrier charge that is able to be redeemed towards the purchase of a new carrier when you are ready.

Making the Most of the Holiday Season

This time of year can evoke a lot of emotions. Sometimes it’s stress, sometimes sorrow, hopefully for you it’s all excitement and cheer. But if you’re like many parents you have at least some reservation about the upcoming holidays. Will they throw your kids off their schedule so you’re stuck with cranky monsters? Or maybe you’re worried that it won’t be as magical as when you were a child.

Handmade for the Holidays

Handmade gifts are always a popular option for grandparents, aunts and uncles. Sprout Soup is ready to help even those who have little or no craftiness create memorable gifts with their kids this holiday.

If your little one is barely holding their head up, let alone a crayon, how about creating foot and hand prints with Baby’s First Canvas Kit from the Little Experience. This kit includes two canvases, paint, and even a drop cloth. Everything you need to imprint your child’s feet or hands. Then simply write your child’s name and perhaps the date, decorate with a bow if you wish, and you’ve got a keepsake worthy of grandma’s walls.

Alternatives for Little Foodies

It’s a momentous event when your baby begins solid food! The funny faces, the exciting new tastes! You want the best for your baby, making sure everything is safe and all natural. That goes for tableware, too. Glass is the best material for serving and storing food, especially hot foods. But when
there are kids around glass isn’t always practical, until now.

Kidishes are kid-friendly bowls, cups, and plates made from tempered glass. Strong and durable, they can withstand banging on the table or being pushed to the floor along with those strained peas. Diswasher and microwave safe!

Natural wood is also a safe alternative to plastic. Our Bambu Infant Utensil set has always been a hit.

Sprout Swap Wrap Up

Sprout Swap is our twice-yearly consignment sale of gently used cloth diapers, baby carriers, and nursing mother items.

For this sale we had a record number of items, and a record number of sales! We were able to re-home three-quarters of the items brought in to us!

For those of you who had items in the swap, your credits and leftover items will be ready for pickup starting now and continuing through March 14th. Please arrange to have your participation in the February Swap settled by this date. If you are unable to do so by this day, please call us to make arrangements.

Items not claimed or arranged for will be donated on March 26.
