I had the privilege of seeing this carrier as it was still in design mode. I tried it on, and the first feature I fell in love with is the integrated seat. It makes getting baby on your back safer and easier. You can transfer the baby from one wearer to another without having to remove them from the carrier. Back carries become as easy as slipping on a backpack.

So why is it called Beco Butterfly? The top of the carrier is able to be unclipped from the shoulder straps, allowing it to open. This is an easy way to get a baby in a front carry. The inside of the carrier with the integrated seat is still attached at the shoulder. These two integral parts of the carrier open much like butterfly wings. Place your precious baby inside the Butterfly, clip it together, and you're ready to carry your little one in comfort.

There is also an integrated infant seat, making an extra insert unnecessary. Placing your small baby inside this special seat helps them ride higher and safer. The smaller center will also fit babies better. Once your child outgrows this infant seat, simply stop using it and switch to the larger seat. The infant insert sits flat against the outside of the carrier when not in use.

Other features include an attached chest strap, padded leg openings, and an ergonomic waist belt.

Included with the Beco Butterfly is an instruction booklet and instructional DVD. There is also a removable hood that clips on to the carrier, or easily stow it in the pocket on the waist belt.
