Amber necklaces are to be worn for their healing properties, they are not for teething on or chewing!

We have switched our stock amber necklaces to only round beads instead of chips. Chips are less expensive, but they do not lay flat against the skin and can cause some discomfort from the pointy edges. Our round beads are not perfect circles, but are smoother and more comfortable to wear. Please bear with us as we update our photos to reflect this change.

Amber has long been heralded as a natural way to alleviate pain, most commonly teething pain in children. As an anti-inflammatory, natural Baltic amber alleviates the pain associated with cutting teeth and by doing so calms the fussy baby, minimizing restlessness and drooling that accompany teething.

Our amber teething necklaces are genuine Baltic amber. When worn against the skin and warmed by body heat, the amber excretes small amounts of oil which are absorbed into the skin. These oils are the healing elements which provide relief for the irritable child.

Every safety precaution is taken with these necklaces. Each amber bead is individually knotted on the strand, so if the strand should break, only one bead, two at the most, would be lost. The screw-type clasp keeps the necklace secure on baby. This is not a necklace for teething on. The child should wear the necklace but not play with it in any way while it is being worn. Do not leave your child unattended while he is wearing the necklace.

For extra relief, try sunning your amber for a bit before placing it on your baby (don't let it get too hot!)
